What differentiates Meltwater from other similar products?
I think their media monitoring is very good - the primary reason I have stayed with them for five years. I do use them for press release distribution as well. But their key usage is in media monitoring. We have locations globally and it is very useful to be able to monitor media around the world.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Media monitoring. That is why we use the product.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The product is fine. I do have issues with the negotiation process and felt the management misrepresented renewal options. We did resolve our issues and I give their operations team credit for making it worth keeping them.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Excellent media monitoring and daily updates on that media with a morning recap. Very useful and a part of my daily routine.

What differentiates Meltwater from other similar products?
Meltwater includes many more features and capabilities that you would have to purchase multiple tools to compare from other solutions. Usability and the UI/UX is leagues ahead of Cision, the closest competitor in my opinion. The versatility and great reports make clients love it.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Great features, includes a wide range of capabilities.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The negotiation process was a little absurd. I think they started quoting at 20K+ per year but with just a few light pushes dropped closer to 10/12K. I think everyone would have appreciated just getting a more straightforward quote from the start.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I used Meltwater while in house at a PR firm and then advised several clients to adopt it while working as a consultant. Clients love it because of the reporting and analytics.
