Best for balancing cost, features and function!

What differentiates Alchemer from other similar products?

Alchemer offers best in class UI and innovative features for UX and market researchers. Even advanced features are easy to find and implement.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ease of use. While I use advanced features often, the UI and testing abilities make them easy to implement.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Software updates don’t receive adequate testing before going live. When there is a major update, it’s not uncommon for other features to break temporarily. Fixes are usually quick but still frustrating if you have a deadline.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

While some of the criticisms are valid (like lack of testing ahead of updates), overall the value provided by the software is well worth the subscription fee. I’ve worked with Alchemer for almost 10 years and I’ve seen the innovation and continual improvement to the product over time so they are a product dedicated to value and service.

Pros

  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity
  • Unique Features
  • Includes Product Enhancements

Great capability at a good price point.

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates Alchemer from other similar products?

Alchemer sits at an appealing point on the price / feature landscape. They offer features that more closely match much more expensive competitors, but at a price that is closer to more barebones competitors.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like that it is relatively easy and straightforward to export the results of my surveys in cases where I need to do additional analysis that I can't do directly in Alchemer, and I like that the need for such is relatively rare.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I had a survey years ago that contained important project data. Because of business conditions, I had to downgrade to their free plan. At the time, I was assured that my data would remain intact and would become available to me again once I was able to upgrade to a paid plan. However, when I was able to upgrade, some of my old data was missing or corrupted somehow.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you are looking for a product that offers good value, Alchemer is one you should definitely consider. It offers features normally reserved for much pricier products at a more reasonable cost. There are several ways to view the results of your surveys but if they aren't sufficient, it's easy to export your data for external processing.

Pros

  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity
  • Effective Service
  • Continually Improving Product

Cons

  • Charges for Enhancements
  • Vendor's Interest First
  • Less Friendly Negotiation

Alchemer has key question types at affordable cost

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Alchemer from other similar products?

Alchemer has the key question types that I want for my Market Research business -- conjoint, image heat maps, video dial-testing, and time limits on questions (for exams). Unlike just about every other survey platform, there is no limit on number of respondents on the "small business" plan. There are only a handful of competing software platforms that possess all of those features. QuestionPro was more expensive and caps the number of respondents. Decipher (Forsta) was $2,700 more expensive. Qualtrics was $4,660 more expensive. Additionally, tech support with Alchemer is usually there by phone after less than 5 minutes on hold, and US-based.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My clients really like the visual heat map feature. I also like that it's very easy to switch on (and off) recurring tracking studies.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I have made several requests to Alchemer development team, to fix small flaws in the software, or to implement what would be very time-saving features -- but after 3 years, I don't think a single one of these suggestions has been fulfilled with a software update.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you are shopping around, you're going to encounter QuestionPro, Forsta, and Qualtrics. Based on pricing alone, you are probably going to select Alchemer, unless you are a very large organization that needs more "cachet" with the brand selected.

Pros

  • Enables Productivity
  • Trustworthy
  • Efficient Service
  • Client Friendly Policies

Cons

  • Slower Product Innovation
