What differentiates SearchUnify Cognitive Search from other similar products?
The ease of back end customization is a great feature for SearchUnify. I appreciate that we can add new content sources, control indexing, manipulate search tuning, and many other functions, right from the admin panel ourselves.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The ability of the product to generate dynamic facets for filtering searches, based on the unique metadata associated with the different content types, is pretty great! Our end users like that it can offer such a flexible search experience.
What do you dislike most about this product?
There are some small usability issues that are relatively trivial but annoying if you are a heavy daily user, that seem like oversights in an otherwise great product. One example would be the titles on search results not wrapping/cutting off, requiring our users to hover their mouse over every search result title to see the full title in the hover text. When you are performing hundreds of searches a day (working on support tickets from our customers), this takes away valuable time.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I would recommend taking the time to test it and make sure it's going to meet your needs, but if it meets most/all business requirements, this is a great choice for a federated/enterprise search tool. It's powerful, customizable, and we have overall been really happy with the engagement of their customer success team and the price point. When we recently migrated to a new CRM platform and had a few months without SearchUnify during the move, our agents asked constantly when it would be back, which was a pretty good sign that it had become a valuable tool for them.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Extremely flexible with rich features
What do you dislike most about this product?
AI gaps. I'd like to see it's AI act as an admin - suggest improvements, fill in missing gaps, and monitor analytics to alert of due changes.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you want a stale product that has a set feature list, gets new features every few years and lives in the past, you need to look someplace else. If you believe in 21st century products, where AI and NLP are integrated into our lives, where features are implemented at the speed of light, where bleeding edge technology should be utilized in real time, pick SearchUnify
