What differentiates Meltwater from other similar products?

By consolidating all of our public relations and social media activities into one location, we are better able to analyze and contrast different approaches based on consistent data. It gives us new information and resources that our team didn't have previously. The simplicity of the platform, particularly when it comes to posting, has allowed me, as a solo social media manager, to devote more time and energy to other aspects of my work and to long-term planning.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I found this tool very helpful because it allowed me to identify and understand the messages that both major social actors and the general public were sharing on news pages and social media regarding the election and, more specifically, about any events that might violate the rules and regulations set up for a democratic election and result in fraud. Additionally, Meltwater assisted in the detection of suspicious profiles and accounts that attempted to smear and undermine the credibility of the election results.

What do you dislike most about this product?

In my opinion, Meltwater isn't always easy to navigate, and it requires a fair amount of time to master the basics. I still don't really get it and am not making the most of it, even after a year of using it. But that's not always a negative thing; in fact, it's a really effective weapon. While the customer service team has been great during setup (for example, with the automatic mailings), they are notoriously sluggish to react, even during emergencies.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

To stay abreast of industry talk and brand influencers, use Meltwater Explore, a component of the Meltwater Media Intelligence Platform. While it's fascinating to hear what people are saying about your brand, I've found that keeping an eye on the competitors helps me spot market trends. As someone who creates content, I have found that watching stuff on Meltwater Explore really sparks my creativity.

What differentiates Meltwater from other similar products?

At the time we used Meltwater, I didn't see much that differentiated them, aside from the fact that they were VERY persistent in calling and following up, often to an annoying degree.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I didn't really have one. Unsure if it was simply not implemented correctly, or if we were not trained well, but my boss and I both had multiple calls and trainings and still couldn't get the promised value out of the tool.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Almost everything. I didn't feel like it provided much value to our business. This could have been due to training and implementation, or even the segment our business was in. But we paid a lot for this and got very little benefit at all.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Beware that the sales team will NOT let up and will constantly call you. I even had one locate my personal cell and he ended up calling AND texting me. If you express even the smallest interest, they will call and email you constantly.
