What differentiates Looker from other similar products?

If already with Google Cloud, you can deploy Looker instance and be charged as per usage. While Tableau might have better dashboard for visualizing data, the strength of Looker is how seamlessly it integrates with your database and can be scaled. Looker replies to your queries in the form of a chat, something which Tableau to the best of my knowledge cannot. Another close competitor Cognos Analytics is pricey and meant for large enterprises, not for small startups amongst which Google Cloud is very popular.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

A platform to make sense of structured and unstructured data. With zero programming knowledge, queries can be created. Chat can reply to your queries raised after quickly parsing the database in almost real time. On the backend, queries are performed on SQL-based modeling language LookML without requiring user to write LookML codes.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Naming can be confusing. While Looker Studio is meant for creating dashboards, Looker available on a Google Cloud Service is BI offering that is more comprehensive beyond dashboarding.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Looker is part of Google Cloud offerings. Start with free Google Cloud trial. They are offering liberal credit to startups. Check your eligibility.

Effectiveness . Cashing and sharing results. Everything stored as a code, easy to track changes.

Development mode that allow us verify our changes before deploying them

What do you dislike most about this product?

Costs and administration. It was hard to set up connections correctly.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Don't be alone with it. It is much easier if You migrate to Looker BI as a team.
