What differentiates Airtable from other similar products?

We use AirTable as our "single source of truth" for several corporate data sets and have found it very useful for obtaining accurate information and presenting it to various stakeholder groups. Another benefit is that the ability to share views of a data set eliminates the need to work with spreadsheet filters. Everyone can see the same data when a view is shared.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The collaborative nature and real-time data accessibility are attractive features. At Airtable, we have the ability to create a wide range of projects and, once established, we have the freedom to modify them in response to changing development requirements. The most interesting feature is that the data is updated and AirTable is updated simultaneously.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There are some inconsistencies in the admin panel, it's confusing to know who is the editor of which OU, etc.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It's an extremely powerful tool with a variety of visualization options, giving you great flexibility in how you and your team choose to examine the data, and it has strong online collaboration features. It has more than 20 features that you would like to see in your regular spreadsheet software.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product

  • Performance Enhancing

Getting the Most Out of Airtable

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Airtable from other similar products?

The strength is how well Airtable supports Collaboration across departments. In many system, technical teams own the data while business teams consume it. Airtable creates a more shared environment where stakeholders can contribute directly without needing specialized technical knowledge. And what differentiates Airtable for me is its ability to make complex workflows feel surprisingly simple.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The reason it stands out to me is the impact has on collaboration. When everyone–from operational and marketing to product and engineering–can work from the same platform, communication becomes much easier. And I also appreciate that Airtable doesn’t force users to think in technical terms.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The challenge is that teams can become heavily on Airtable for critical workflows. While that centralization has benefits, it can also make processes harder to migrate or redesign later if business needs benefits. And I also think that governance can become an issue in large organizations.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

The piece of advice is to think carefully about who will be maintaining the system. Airtable often starts as team-level tool, but successful deployments can quickly become business l-critical. And I would also recommend starting small and expanding gradually. One of the advantage of Airtable is how quickly you can build a working solution, but that doesn’t mean everything needs to be created at once.

Pros

  • Continually Improving Product
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Effective Service

Cons

  • Charges for Enhancements

Agile Data Management Made Easy

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Airtable from other similar products?

The important differentiator is how easy it is for non-technical users to bulid and maintain applications. Teams can create relational databases, forms, dashboards, and automations without development support, which reduces dependency on IT for every small workflow change. And compared to more structured enterprise tools like ServiceNow or Jira, Airtable is much lighter and faster to implement but it trades off some of the deeper governance, IT controls, and enterprise-grade process enforcement those platform offer.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like most about Airtable is how quickly it allows teams to turn an idea into a working system. And also there speed and simplicity of buliding custom workflows without needing development efforts.

What do you dislike most about this product?

From my experience, I noticed that performance and usability can start to lag when working with very large datasets or highly complex relational setups, which can be a limitation for more data heavy IT use cases.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

From my experience, my biggest recommendation is evaluating the type of problems you are trying to solve before adopting it broadly. Airtable is best suited for use cases where teams need to move quickly and don't want to go through long development or procurement cycle. And I also suggest treating Airtable as a citizen development platform with guardians. While it empowers non-technical users to build their own applications, the same strength can become a challenge of not managed properly.
