What differentiates Backup Exec from other similar products?

The ability to integrate easily with Amazon S3.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I have everything automated. I don't even have to check on it. If something goes wrong I get an email.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It is not great at keeping my S3 library purged of outdated backups.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Don't be scared to purchase this product and configure it yourself. You will save thousands of dollars.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Instant recovery for Virtual Machines, operating simplicity, high quality of provided services

What do you dislike most about this product?

Manual addition of email notification users.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Very good product. Recommend. You will get product witch works very fast, without any bugs. Administrate also not difficult. Big amount of courses in Internet.

Physical Backup for Multiple Platforms Backs up data and system info for non-virtualized systems. Primarily Windows and Linux servers but also, potentially, AIX, Unix and others.

Replication for Long Term Storage and Disaster Recovery Onsite backup data is replicated and stored to a public cloud (AWS, Azure). Can also include restore-to-cloud capabilities for Disaster Recovery as a Service.

Application Awareness Application consistent backup and granular restore for application data from core applications such as MS SQL, Oracle, MS Exchange, MS SharePoint.

Backup Automation Solution automates backup, recovery and remediation tasks using RestAPI and CLI to integrate with 3rd party solutions, reduce cost and enforce standards.

File Explorer Granular Restore Individual files can be located and restored from backup media without the need for full system mounting and restore.

Backup Monitoring and Reporting Backup and replication are continually monitored for status and effectiveness. Detailed reporting is available on successful and unsuccessful operations.

Backup of Cloud Based Data In addition to targeting backups to the cloud, the solution also has the capability to back up primary data and services already in the cloud.

Deduplication Implementation Deduplication of redundant data blocks is implemented by the solution. Deduplication can be at source, target, or globally (source and target).

Integration With Storage Arrays Integrates with APIs from major storage vendors (NetApp, HP, Dell EMC) to leverage capabilities in these arrays such as data snapshots and replication.

Replication for High Availability Beyond secondary copy backup, the solution also manages replication of primary data host-to-host and site-to-site for live failover and high availability.

Virtual Machine Backup Automatically discovers and protects VMs as they come online, move, and change. Production VMs are replicated to a secondary data store.
