What differentiates Swimlane from other similar products?

Swimlane is a completely un-opinionated platform that leaves the implementation entirely up to the administrators. This is a great fit for developers (even better if they started in analysis roles!) but can be difficult to approach if otherwise. The vendor offers a plethora of training and coaching/consultation options, and pre-packaged integrations fit most use cases, requiring no code editing. Compared with several competing offerings, for our use, Swimlane achieved full feature parity while still letting us own the product with direct database access for even strong analytics.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Swimlane almost never restricts you to their interpretations or implementations. There are multiple ways to solve a single use case - right down to developing your own Python code, Kubernetes management (with built-in monitoring), custom JavaScript UI components, and more.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Lack of support for websockets or incoming webhooks.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Be prepared to have Python and/or Javascript developers on hand *IF* the vendor-supplied "SwimBundles" do not meet your needs. Swimlane are happy to write these plugins for you, but at a time and cost. If you can supply your own developer/engineering hours, the product is hard to beat.
