What differentiates Pimcore from other similar products?
Pimcore helps create highly flexible and scalable PIM systems as a single source of product information about marketing channels, suppliers and more. The flexible data model provided by Pimcore allows developers to easily replicate complex data models. It is free and open source, and offers a large pool of developers and strong community support. It helps companies integrate product and customer data residing in different silos without changing existing legacy systems. Pimcore supports seamless delivery of data across multiple channels, including web portals, mobile apps and even catalog publishing systems.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Pimcore is completely open source and is based on Symfony, the leading PHP framework. It has a well-established partner network and community support. In addition to PIM, DAM and WCM functionality, it also provides a powerful e-commerce platform. All PIM functionality is also available through REST-based web services that can be easily integrated with other applications. Pimcore is not designed to be used as a plug-and-play system, but as a platform. Therefore, it will take some time for non-technical users to get started.

Pimcore is ideal for organizations with complex processes and data models that cannot be easily accomplished with off-the-shelf systems. It is especially useful when data resides in multiple legacy systems and requires complex integration with those systems. It may not be the best choice for someone looking for an off-the-shelf system with pre-defined functionality.
