D2L Demonstrates Commitment to Special Needs Through Aira Partnership

Desire to Learn (D2L) is a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Its flagship product, Brightspace, is used in both K12 and higher education environments, transforming the learning process and serving as the foundation for eLearning course delivery.

According to sources, the company has just entered into a strategic partnership with Aira to provide enhanced access to people with vision impairments and low vision. The tool enhances the experience for those users with vision impairments by using visual interpreters and navigators. The Aira product will provide better navigation capabilities using the different headings for landmarks and page sections and will organize sections for the different pages of the system.
