Blue Prism Releases Learning Edition and Online Learning Platform

On Sept. 18, Blue Prism announced Blue Prism University and Blue Prism Learning Edition, joining the majority of RPA vendors that support the learning and development of would-be RPA developers and users.

Blue Prism University is an online learning platform, available to all, that supports self-study, on-demand, and in-person training on RPA basics and advanced topics – including the Blue Prism Foundation. The Learning Edition is a limited free trial version of Blue Prism that is tailored to those interested in learning more about intelligent automation or those who want to become a certified Blue Prism developer.

Our Take

Finally! It was long overdue. Does anyone remember the former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer’s “developers, developers, developers, developers” dance?

Blue Prism seemingly resisted the self-study trend by keeping the serious-buyers-only vibe – until now. It stands in stark comparison to, say, UiPath; it has had such options available for years. I believe the cheapest self-training course I’ve seen for Blue Prism last year was still well over $2,000.

However, the long road to RPA’s widespread adoption is far from over. On organizational change, I often quip that such change comes “technology first, process hopefully, people begrudgingly.” Still, having many RPA solutions to try without an organizational sponsorship is the first step to democratizing automation.
