What differentiates Zoom Workplace from other similar products?
Let’s be real, before 2020, Zoom was just “that app the tech bros used.” Now? It’s basically a digital limb for HR. Our agency never fully went back to in-office life, so Zoom became more than just a meeting tool. It’s how we onboard, how we run culture events, how we check in on our remote staff; heck, we even did a “Zoom prom” for one of our client team milestones (with actual virtual awards and DJ sets).
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
You know what I love? The breakout rooms. That feature alone has made our internal HR trainings and wellness check-ins feel so much more human. We run monthly “coffee roulette” chats, and the randomized rooms are perfect for getting cross-team bonding without forcing awkward icebreakers.
What do you dislike most about this product?
What drives me a little bonkers, though, is the constant update prompts and occasional audio glitches.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Would I recommend Zoom? Yeah, 100%. Especially if your team is hybrid or remote-heavy. Is it perfect? No. But it’s dependable, scalable, and honestly still better than most of its “Zoom alternative” cousins. Just don’t forget to hit “Record” you’ll thank yourself later.
