What differentiates Workday Human Capital Management from other similar products?

One thing that makes Workday stand out is that reporting is built in from the start, not put on later. The main difference is that on a screen, I can get more information about any number. If I see that a lot of people are leaving a certain department, I can click on it to see who went and why. It is best for making decisions based on data because you can look at it without asking it to make a new report.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like the steering wheels. They can be changed to show just the measures I care about, like headcount or budget vs. actuals. The "worksheets" tool is cool because it lets me change data in the system like I would in Excel. I also like that the info is up-to-date. I don't have to wait for the nightly restart to see how a change makes things look. Reports are also very safe; managers can only see the data from their own teams by default.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It takes a certain set of skills to make custom reports that are very complicated. They can't just do it like any other user. When they are pulling a huge amount of data, the results can take a while to run.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Businesses that really want to get into people statistics will love this. You will need a full-time HR expert to put together the reports, but the information they give you is worth it. It turns HR info into a plan for the business.
