What is VMware SD-WAN?
VMware SD-WAN improves upon the economics and flexibility of a hybrid WAN with the deployment speed and low maintenance of a cloud-based service. It includes policy-based, network-wide application performance, visibility and control while dramatically simplifying the WAN by delivering virtualized services from the cloud to branch offices.

Integrate server external and virtual storage
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates VMware SD-WAN from other similar products?
Until a decade ago, shared external storage in virtual environments should have been considered acceptable for alleviating I/O issues; however, its utilization eliminates shared external storage while simultaneously heightening I/O difficulties. You don't have to worry about RAID when compared to normal WAN. In my perspective, it looks to have a high level of fault tolerance (HA, etc.). I had been concerned about I/O for many years, but I was able to improve performance by utilizing SD-WAN.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
A fully integrated vSphere feature that uses the internal disk of the server as shared storage. The SSD is employed as a cache region right away, which enhances speed. You may save money by using an integrated device in the server rather than a separate external storage device, and the internal interface is typically faster in terms of interface speed, so expect a performance improvement. Shared virtual storage in vSphere may be managed as fully integrated software rather than hardware. Because there is no need for a shared drive outside of the server, expenses such as lower installation costs and power usage may be avoided.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Because the failure has not yet occurred, there are some unknowns, but there are no places for improvement at this moment. It may be difficult to expand the drive in the future, therefore I'd like to know whether it can be maintained in a flexible manner.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you want to learn more about virtual storage, you may start with this product. Because shared external storage may be eliminated and configuration can be segregated, the physical cost is decreased. It also offers outstanding features, therefore I believe it is a viable option. I assume the evaluation will be separated according to the HCI platform. I am really glad that VMware SD-WAN technology has simplified traditional storage administration. Also, it looks like the concept of backup is evolving, so I want to continue utilizing it in the future.
