Robust feature set saves me so much time
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Validity DemandTools from other similar products?
Demandtools has so many capabilities and such a deep feature set that is well thought out it makes it easy for me to govern and maintain my data with ease. Support is quick to respond to Cases and I usually get a resolution with in 24 hours.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I use PowerGrid extensively as it allows me to accumulate data from multiple related objects and get a picture of issues with in seconds. I also like that I can modify data easily and push it back to Salesforce in a bulk fashion.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The cost and related to that the bundling. I find value in the product but am always hard pressed to make the business case to my superiors who have to write the check. There are many components of the package that we do not use so it would be nice to pick the components we want and only pay for those.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Look outside the current use case that may be driving your purchase decision. There are so many features that are better than other, free, services that you will find value in. That should play in to your purchasing decision.

Great capabilities but really needs an updated UI!

What differentiates Validity DemandTools from other similar products?
Demand tools is an incredibly powerful tool and a rather inexpensive price that can really help administrators and power users manage data. No matter what data collection routines and rules you put in place, the data just isn't going to cleanse itself. Having this tool handy when you want to swap out on value for another puts those capabilities into the hands of the end user instead of our 1 single admin. If you are still use data uploaded (does that even exist), it's time for an upgrade.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The deduplication feature is hands down my favorite. I built out multiple levels of scenarios and hand them over to be executed by a data entry person. Level 1 -clear match, automatically de-dupe! Level 2 - strong match - eyeball the records in the grid and you will be able to quickly pick the master record. Level 3: Possible match, may need to actually go into Salesforce to determine whether to merge! The best part is that YOU determine what your rules are. You build rules for matching, rules for dynamically determining the master record, as well as the ability to manually determine master.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The UI on this needs serious updating. The power behind the product is there - but it can be hard to train people to use it to it's full potential because of the UI. I hope it gets a facelift soon!
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Take it for a spin, get a trial and talk to a rep. Every time I talk to a rep, they are wonderful. Not pushy sales people and they will just tell you if there is a better way to accomplish something. I've been using this tool for years and I would not want to manage an org without it. Trust your power users and push some data administration tasks out to the masses!
Pros
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity
- Trustworthy
Cons
- Slower Product Innovation
- Charges for Enhancements
