What differentiates Microsoft Teams from other similar products?

The first thing that comes to mind is its integration with Outlook and Excel. From my experience nothing else ties into office products like Teams, as it should.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

One of my favored aspects is its ability to bring together different features in one place, such as video and audio calls, chat, file sharing, and task management. Also it has fun backgrounds you can use during video calls.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Some of the users I support have reported issues with video and audio quality in calls, or have experienced glitches or crashes while using the platform. These are issue that might be cleared up or have been cleared up with win updates.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Teams is a powerful platform for communication and collaboration, but it may not be the right fit for every team. If your team is already using Microsoft products, such as Office 365, OneDrive etc, Teams may be a great solution as it integrates with these products. I would 100% try a demo first if possible.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity

Cons

  • Slower Product Innovation

Simple IM application that works well with Outlook

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Microsoft Teams from other similar products?

It integrates itself into Outlook very well allowing for both calendars to sync with one another without any hiccups.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

How well it syncs and works perfectly with Outlook. The two applications work as if they are each half of the same application.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There are the few random bugs that come up that screw up functionality or some features. They can't be worked on other than waiting for Microsoft to release a patch. Doesn't happen often.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you use Outlook (or any of the Office applications), Teams should be a part of your system; it just works.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Reliable
  • Enables Productivity
  • Unique Features

Cons

  • Slower Product Innovation
  • Vendor Friendly Policies
  • Charges for Enhancements
