Good functions at the click of a button

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager from other similar products?

Microsoft Operations Manager is a very useful tool. The main difference is that it has many products to cover each branch of any system, you can monitor, control updates, resolve execution errors and it should be noted that it is part of a large company that is found all over the world so it has great technical support and allows you to connect hundreds of computers and work remotely.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite is working with SCOM and SCCM, they are excellent allies when doing any job. They give you endless possibilities to enhance your work. You can see that they are very well worked products so they provide security in any management when managing any tool.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The help options can still be worked on more, I consider that many of their tutorials are a bit deficient and in the end they do not end up showing the true potential of the tool, since they have many functions and products available and there is not enough information on how to handle all of them. .

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

My recommendation is that you try the tool and you will realize that it offers a lot to speed up your work. Practically after having made the configurations, the tool itself manages itself with automation or showing you what to do in every eventuality, in addition the work becomes more efficient since you can control an entire computer system from anywhere.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager from other similar products?

Below are some points that I observers are :- 1. proper monitoring agents. 2. best log management . 3. support power shell which help to perform automation . 4. better connectivity between management server and SCOM agents.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I would like to add some of the points under this tag are :- 1. Customization option for monitoring also can creating your own monitors.(PowerShell Scripting) 2. Monitoring Microsoft OS and back-end solutions like Exchange and SQL Server. 3. Detects and alerts the critical services which failed, space is low on storage at the logical or physical level, IP conflict and all. 4. Allows  to visualize our systems in a single interface and see the status of health as well as relevant performance metrics.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Few are the dislike about the product or service are :- 1. Its real-time status updates are a bit slow. 2. Support for monitoring of Linux OS is not mature enough 3. Basic agents still don't work with all UNIX/Linux flavors 4. Possibility for agentless monitoring could be helpful in some cases, but it has a lot of limitation in SCOM.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Below are some recommendations :- 1. where we need a system to monitor different located windows machine. 2. Where we need to monitor multiple services and check status of that. 3. where we have to trigger an alert before critical deadlock/functionality about to break/occur.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
