The primary differentiator is the price - can't beat $0 price point. Considering that fact, not surprising that the quality of the product is not at the same level as Zoom for example.

Ensure everyone uses high quality equipment if the plan is to leverage this platform exclusively. The current product iteration does not provide a consistently high quality audio, video or presentation experience. Considering the price point, difficult to complain about it, just understand that the overall experience will be significantly different than with Zoom or Teams.

However, some disadvantages of Google Meet include connection quality issues and delays in streaming video and audio on some occasions, although this may be caused by user network issues and not necessarily by the tool itself.
