What differentiates Conga CPQ from other similar products?

We use Salesforce every day and we only considered CPQ for our needs. I was brought on late to the team, but it doesn't appear there were any other considerations. We sell 1,000s of products that need to have the price/quantity adjusted dynamically. This seemed like the best fit to my knowledge.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

How dynamic and customizable it is. Our sales reps send out 1,000s of quotes a day to so many different kinds of customers. We need to be able to add products and adjust pricing very quickly and seamlessly. It has definitely improved our overall revenue.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I don't think this is necessarily anything against the product, but it is extremely sophisticated. The average User at our organization really struggled with it initially. We had a lot of issues that we had to debug in our initial debut. It was very stressful. It works great now, but, in the beginning, it was very difficult to convince Users to use it.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Really invest in outside consultants that know CPQ through and through and that can help out Users when you are considering going live with the product. With enough Users in your organization, it is definitely worth it to make sure everyone knows how to use it.

What differentiates Conga CPQ from other similar products?

I was impressed by the ease of use. Getting a quote done has never been easier and more user-friendly in my opinion. I've used different types of tools in the past 15 years, all the way from in-house development to enterprise solutions coming from big software vendors like Oracle and SAP and nothing came closer: for a rep to actually produce a quote, get it through the workflow and back and then to the customer most processes are long and not pro-user. I would even say some actually discourage reps to do it. Not with Conga CPQ. It's transparent, it's easy to use, it's fast and even sales ops was happy!

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It's easily integrated with a number of systems, I would say SFDC being the top one any large or mid-sized organization should consider.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Last I used it, updates to the tool took a while to get in place. I did get the opportunity to share product feedback with their team, but didn't see any changes on the actual tool for at least 12 months.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I think this is a top player. You may consider in-house your top solution, or if you're heavy on other technology (Oracle, SAP or SFDC) you might want to go after the whole "just one vendor for everything makes sense", which is why I would strongly recommend you to book a demo with Conga and allow them to show you the kind of customer experience they can provide your sales reps. It is a game changer.
