What differentiates Cisco Prime Infrastructure from other similar products?

Based on context, the Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) provides a network-based method for flexible, trusted access anywhere. Through intent-based policy and compliance solutions, it offers the user intelligent, comprehensive protection. Bread and butter services are network access control and policy enforcement.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

In order to address the issue of Wi-Fi authentication, Cisco ISE was first employed. For the connections to the technical equipment, authorization and accounting functions were later included. The characterization features are now being released. The ability or steadiness of Cisco ISE's product to handle massive amounts of information is its most well-liked quality or aspect.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The User Interface feels somewhat stale. To be compatible with the new next generational tools being provided today, it needs to be modernized. It does offer a lot of settings as well, but the archaic UI is not helpful in this regard. Cisco ISE is more expensive than you might anticipate for what it offers.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It controls privileged access to communication technology. Granular permissions are possible, LDAP users can be integrated, and most crucially, an audit of each user's actions is possible. We may now automatically take action in response to information from Steal Watch, Umbrella, AMP, and other sources.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product

Robust and affordable software

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates Cisco Prime Infrastructure from other similar products?

Internally, network access control for wired, wireless, and remote client VPN authentication and authorization is handled by Cisco ISE. Through Cisco ISE, which offers protection, the machines' compliance is assessed, and appropriate access is allowed to compliant PCs. Additionally, it controls high-privilege access to communication devices.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Overall, the program is excellent. All with an emphasis on security and user experience, seeking safer accesses, a higher degree of control and auditing, as well as a user- or device-based profiling that enables administration to be made simpler and ensures that individuals can complete their activities regardless of the device they are using. Granular permissions are possible, LDAP users can be integrated, and most significantly, an audit of the actions that have been performed is possible.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Any further features you might want to enable return to the laborious beginning process. When you first view the user interactive, it nearly feels overwhelming. There are many different menus, as well as many obscure or confusing menus and settings.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It works wonderfully for assigning rights and accessibility level due on a user's profile and the device they are using. Since it depends on the levels of access it has dependent on the device rather than the network it is in, it significantly enhances the user experience. Additionally, it permits self-managed guest access with approval processes, which is crucial for our organization.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
