What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The payroll module is incredibly user-friendly and accurate, saving us time and reducing errors. The recruitment features—from job postings to applicant tracking—are comprehensive and intuitive. Plus, the support team and account managers are responsive, proactive, and genuinely invested in our success.

What do you dislike most about this product?

While most features are strong, reporting could be more flexible and customizable. Some analytics require manual workarounds, which can be time-consuming for strategic HR planning.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If payroll accuracy and recruitment efficiency are top priorities, Paylocity is a fantastic choice. Be sure to engage with their service team early—they’re incredibly helpful during setup and beyond. Also, take full advantage of the training resources and customize workflows to match your organization’s needs.

What differentiates Paylocity from other similar products?

I have used both adp and paychex, but paylocity seems to be faster when it comes to doing the math. What makes it different is the "pre-process" register. I can see mistakes right away, even before I commit the batch. This speed is what makes it best for salary professionals who are working alone and are short on time. It lets me know immediately if something is different, like if someone's check is 50% higher than normal.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like that the payroll plan can be changed to fit my needs. I can set the columns up just the way I like them. I also like how the cost reimbursement is built in. Spending goes straight into the salary batch, so you don't have to enter it by hand. Tax service is reliable; they do the paperwork every three months so we don't have to. I also like the "check calculator" tool because it lets me make up a fake paycheck to answer a question about taxes from an employee.

What do you dislike most about this product?

On Fridays, when everyone is trying to get to their pay stubs at the same time, the system sometimes slows down. I don't like that fixing a payroll after it's been finalized takes a few extra steps and often means making a change by hand.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

This is very useful for payroll. It's made to be fast and accurate. This method is great if you want to cut down on the time you spend on processing every two weeks.

What differentiates Paylocity from other similar products?

I know that customer service is often a problem with salary companies, but Paylocity does a good job. The account manager is what makes the difference. It's not a call center; I can write someone instead. Because of this connection, it works best for complicated groups that need to keep going. Our rep knows about our strange shift differences and doesn't need me to explain them every time.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

"Pekit" is a Paylocity school knowledge instructional tool that I like. The library can be searched, and it normally has the answer I need with screenshots. I also like that we can browse together. Helpdesk can look at my screen and tell me what to click on. You can also get help through chat pretty quickly for simple issues. Another thing I like is that they check on tickets to make sure the problem is fixed.

What do you dislike most about this product?

My specialized rep changes every once in a while because they leave, and I have to train the new person again. Response times may take longer at the end of the year when everyone is worried about their W2s.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Getting to know your account manager is important. The support is great when you have that link. It's a big improvement over other big vendors where help tickets just disappear.
