What differentiates Optimizely Digital Asset Management from other similar products?

Unlike other DAM systems, Optimizely integrates exceptionally well with the marketing and automation tools we already use, such as HubSpot and Salesforce. This integration allows for efficient synchronization of assets, reducing search time and improving workflow. The user interface is remarkably user-friendly. Unlike other platforms that can be overwhelming, Optimizely allows you to customize the workspace to the team's needs, making it easy for all users to adopt, regardless of their technical expertise

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like Optimizely DAM because I think it's ideal for marketing teams that handle a lot of visual content, such as images and videos, and require constant collaboration between different departments. For example, in product launch campaigns, quick and efficient access to assets is crucial.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It might not be as effective for organizations that only require a basic storage system without the need for advanced integration with other systems.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Optimizely DAM is especially suited for companies that manage a large inventory of digital assets and are looking to improve their marketing processes. However, it may not be the best choice for smaller organizations that do not require complex integrations or that have a significantly smaller volume of assets.

What differentiates Optimizely Digital Asset Management from other similar products?

Our company already uses Optimizely’s CMS and DAM is integrated with it in such a way that I can pull images from DAM directly from within the CMS, without having to open a separate tab. This has made my work much faster and I don’t have to download and upload files over and over again.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite thing about Optimizely DAM is its version history and snapshot feature. Optimizely DAM shows me each version separately and tells me who made the changes and when. I really love its customizable metadata schema. Whenever there’s a need for me to create a report, I can filter based on these fields and quickly extract the data I need.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Our company has a budget but every year when I renew my license, I have to give many justifications to the management as to why this tool is so expensive. When I see that other DAM tools are offering the same great features at a lower price, I think Optimizely should reevaluate their pricing, otherwise many people will look for other alternatives.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

The recommendation is to train your team properly and have clear rules for metadata and tagging. My experience is that if the team doesn’t tag properly, the power of the entire DAM is wasted and search becomes difficult. So, invest time and resources to train everyone and create a standard naming system that everyone follows.
