What differentiates Microsoft Purview from other similar products?

Purview’s sophisticated data cataloguing features let users efficiently track down, organize, and oversee their data resources. The lineage tracking feature makes it possible to follow data flows and transformations, which gives organizations the confidence that their data is trustworthy and can support better decision-making.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The automated data classification feature is also impressive, as it uses machine learning to spot and organize sensitive information. Automating data classification reduces much of the work needed for compliance and governance, helping businesses stay compliant and reduce risks from data breaches or unauthorized access.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Some users, despite the wide range of features in Purview, may feel that the pricing is too high. Such a situation can prevent small organizations from using Purview as expected, and this might mean some businesses do not have the same opportunities to benefit from top data governance solutions.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Spending time to properly train and onboard your team is very important as well. Teaching your team how to use the platform will increase the number of people who use it and help everyone use its capabilities for better data management and compliance.
