What differentiates HyperScale X Appliance from other similar products?

As Appliance the hardware has the requirements that is needed by the software so the backup it will run much more faster

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

the performance of the backup

What do you dislike most about this product?

There are very limited when we speak about scalability, you can't scale up with just single node

The product is good because the performance is better compared with Appliance that offers another companies

What differentiates HyperScale X Appliance from other similar products?

converged commvault backup appliance, the main differentiator is in my opinion the commvault software , i am not so found on the hardware platform

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

the underlying commvault software

What do you dislike most about this product?

platform is comprised of 3 nodes, not 100% redundant, platform is not extremely scalable either, once fully populated with disks, it cannot be expanded

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

i prefer the traditional commvault model based on standalone commvault windows media agents

File Explorer Granular Restore Individual files can be located and restored from backup media without the need for full system mounting and restore.

Virtual Machine Backup Automatically discovers and protects VMs as they come online, move, and change. Production VMs are replicated to a secondary data store.

Replication for Long Term Storage and Disaster Recovery Onsite backup data is replicated and stored to a public cloud (AWS, Azure). Can also include restore-to-cloud capabilities for Disaster Recovery as a Service.

Backup of Cloud Based Data In addition to targeting backups to the cloud, the solution also has the capability to back up primary data and services already in the cloud.

Integration With Storage Arrays Integrates with APIs from major storage vendors (NetApp, HP, Dell EMC) to leverage capabilities in these arrays such as data snapshots and replication.

Application Awareness Application consistent backup and granular restore for application data from core applications such as MS SQL, Oracle, MS Exchange, MS SharePoint.

Backup Monitoring and Reporting Backup and replication are continually monitored for status and effectiveness. Detailed reporting is available on successful and unsuccessful operations.

Physical Backup for Multiple Platforms Backs up data and system info for non-virtualized systems. Primarily Windows and Linux servers but also, potentially, AIX, Unix and others.

Backup Automation Solution automates backup, recovery and remediation tasks using RestAPI and CLI to integrate with 3rd party solutions, reduce cost and enforce standards.

Deduplication Implementation Deduplication of redundant data blocks is implemented by the solution. Deduplication can be at source, target, or globally (source and target).
