Google Meet provides live captions during meetings, enabling real-time transcription of spoken words.

great if you're already using g-suite, but I wouldnt pay extra for it

What differentiates Google Meet from other similar products?

Google Meets offers built-in integration with the rest of the Google Suite. Our team exclusively uses Google apps—Drive, Meets, Calendar, Docs, Sheets—for our communications and content development. Establishing a team meeting is quick and easy as the Google Calendar item automatically includes a Google Meet long-in to the calendar item. Google Meets is also quite stable for us to use for long conversations and when screen sharing is necessary.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ease of use and automatic integration with Google Calendar increase our efficiency as a team overall. The app itself required little to no training to use, and this software was essential for us during the pandemic when our team worked exclusively remotely. Now, our team works in a hybrid manner (some remote and some in-office), and keeping in communication with each other as we tackle projects is critical to our success. It's easy to launch a meeting, share our screens, discuss solutions, and all within the same meeting space.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The need to record certain meetings is essential to our virtual training program, and the rest of our company uses Zoom for customer support. So, when the need arises to connect with our customers, we leverage Zoom instead for external communications. There is an option to record in Google Meets, but it's included in the pricing tier above what we already have, and why pay extra for something when another app will suffice? But, for internal communications for our department, Google Meets fits our needs nicely.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It's so easy to get started with Google Meets. There is little to no training involved with the establishment—Google Meets is simply that intuitive. So, if you are looking for a quick solution to implement for communication needs, this is your app. Something we use the most is keeping a consistent Google Meets link as an open meeting space for members of our team to jump into to problem solve or work on a project together. It certainly helped to make meetings more efficient with an open meeting space like this!
