Good for Calls, Could Be Great for Collaboration

Likeliness to Recommend

What differentiates Google Meet from other similar products?

I feel what really makes Google Meet stand out for me is its seamless integration into my daily workflow. The way it works so effortlessly with Google Calendar for scheduling and allows my team to collaborate on Docs or Slides directly within a call is something I haven't found to be as smooth on other platforms. I also appreciate its simplicity that anyone can join a meeting with just a browser link, with no mandatory downloads or complicated setups.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

From a functional standpoint, i would say my favorite aspect would be is its deep and seamless integration with the Google Workspace ecosystem. The ability to schedule a meeting from Google Calendar and have a link automatically generated, or to launch a call directly from a Gmail thread, is incredibly efficient. The standout feature within this integration is being able to present and collaborate on a Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide directly within the meeting window, allowing everyone to see the same document and work on it together in real-time. This transforms a simple video call into a genuinely productive and interactive workspace, which is

What do you dislike most about this product?

The aspect I find most challenging is the ephemeral nature of the in-meeting assets once a call has ended. The biggest frustration is that the meeting chat, along with any links or notes shared in it, vanishes the moment the last person leaves. This often leads to a scramble to copy - paste important information before the window closes. While you can use external tools, it breaks the workflow and feels disconnected. If the chat history, poll results, and whiteboard sketches were automatically saved and attached to the calendar event as a persistent record of the meeting, it would make the entire experience feel more complete and productive.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I'd highly recommend Google Meet, particularly for teams already living in the Google Workspace ecosystem. Its greatest strength is the seamless integration; scheduling in Calendar, launching from Gmail, makes workflow incredibly smooth and efficient. It's also my go-to for external meetings, as the ability for anyone to join from a browser with a single click is unbeatable for simplicity. The only caveat is that you have to be disciplined about saving notes, as the meeting chat disappears once the call ends. Overall, i would say, for its sheer convenience and reliability, it’s a top-tier choice.

Simple, reliable video calls for everyone

What differentiates Google Meet from other similar products?

Google Meet stands out thanks to its effortless integration with Google Workspace—calendar invites auto-populate meeting links, shared Docs or Slides open right inside the call, and real-time captions draw on Google’s speech-to-text engine. There’s no extra client download: it runs entirely in your browser, automatically adjusting video quality to your connection. Security is built in, with encrypted streams and domain-restricted meetings for paid plans. For a free tool, Meet offers surprisingly crisp HD video, clear noise-cancellation and screen-sharing options (full screen, window or Chrome tab) without extra plugins. Educational and enterp

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite aspect is how seamlessly Meet ties into Google Workspace. Calendar invites auto-include the link, Docs and Slides open right in the call, and there’s nothing to install—just open your browser and you’re ready to go. The live captions powered by Google’s speech-to-text are also a game-changer for keeping everyone on the same page.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Google Meet’s biggest drawbacks are its limited free‑tier features—breakout rooms, polls, and recordings require paid plans—coupled with a cluttered UI that mixes calendars and chats. Virtual backgrounds and noise suppression lag behind competitors, and the lack of true end‑to‑end encryption plus occasional video stutters on poor networks can frustrate users.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

When considering Google Meet, align your plan to feature needs—free covers basic calls, but breakout rooms, polls, attendance reports and recording require Workspace. Sync Meet with Calendar and Chat for seamless scheduling, and ensure participants use wired or strong Wi‑Fi plus quality headsets and webcams to improve audio/video clarity. Lock down security with host‑only screen sharing, waiting rooms and meeting codes, and train users on mute etiquette and caption use.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The meeting controls lack some advanced features found in other platforms. Managing breakout rooms involves extra steps and isn't as straightforward. Without an integrated whiteboard feature, users must rely on separate Jamboard integration, which disrupts the workflow. The noise cancellation sometimes filters out quiet voices, requiring manual fine-tuning.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I will advice all organization, association and Society to always use it for the meetings and online event
