What differentiates Google Meet from other similar products?
If you spend all your and your productivity team’s brainpower in google docs and sheets, this is the one tool that makes sense. Now you can even share a doc and look at your peoples’ faces in the same tab at the same time. It’s the best is that it eliminates of having to jump between different windows. It makes the computer feel of one piece instead of a series of separate apps.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The “companion mode” is particularly useful for hybrid meetings, where some attendees are in the office and others are at home. It allows the people in the chat room to join without audio so they can still see the chat and use features. The quality of the blur background is also very professional, and it helps me to cover up my mess home office.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It misses a bit of the deep integration with third party apps like jira or trello that other platforms offer. You’re pretty much locked into the google ecosystem. Also, fullscreen is a little sketchy with macs.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
This one's for any and everybody who is "all in" to google. It really streamlines the flow of your video process, and is all in one place.
