What differentiates Blackboard from other similar products?

Blackboard Learn offers cost efficient courses that enables learners to access learning materials from anywhere. It is easy to deploy and interact with learning tools.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Students in our organization finds it useful to use this platform to learn and interact with students from other institutions. It provides the latest content that is up to date with topnotch research materials. Face-to-face virtual meetings with my students has reduced the cost of real time meetings.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I have not experienced any challenge from the performance of this learning platform since we deployed it.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

This is powerful learning management platform that has reduced the cost of online learning. Our institution has saved more with this new model and I totally recommend to other organizations.

What differentiates Blackboard from other similar products?

Blackboard Learn is known for its higher cost compared to competitors. Some users find the software less intuitive and user-friendly. Additionally, Blackboard offers limited customization options for the course navigation menu.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The 'best feature,' if it could be called that, is simply that there are many ways of doing assessments: such as blogs and journals.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Failure to reach consensus on a matter. Some experts might not get a chance to participate. It limits the thought process to the person who will give more input on the matter. It’s time consuming as experts have to write and erase stuff.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

We use the latest version of the Ultra solution. There's always, with any tool, a simple, basic way of using the tool as the vendor supports it. That's the basics. Complications come if you're going to add content that goes beyond what is normally covered. Complications could happen. However, Collaborate isn't too complicated. Their alternative was annoying. It still is. When I'm teaching now with Ultra, I do two connections to Collaborate. One is with Chrome so that I can get past the tunnel of mirrors effect where there's an image within an image within an image, and it's a distraction. I have a second connection through Firefox.

What differentiates Blackboard from other similar products?

It had a more responsive, easy to follow gradebook than Google Classroom.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The Gradebook.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The interface and setting up a class was just a bit more clunky and less intuitive than Google Classroom.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Seriously try Google Classroom first. If it doesn't fulfill your organization's needs, I'd be shocked.
