Spirion Supports Shift to Remote Work with Data Security Offering

A leader in the data security and privacy industry, Spirion presents its swift response to the changing landscape of COVID-19 through a no-cost offering of data security tools.

The mid-March migration to a remote work environment was quickly followed up with a warning statement from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in the United States, and a flurry of activity as organizations tried to prepare to accommodate a fully remote workforce. In response, Spirion has offered a 60 day no-cost license for its Sensitive Data Manager software, which includes agent software for searching Windows 7 and 10 endpoint devices for sensitive data elements. The company has also provided a no-cost download of its Data Discovery Agent, which assists remote workers in locating sensitive data on their own devices and provides them with the measures to protect the data moving forward.

Our Take

Cybersecurity has become an area of focus amidst the COVID-19 landscape. Spirion’s gesture of goodwill may be the offering that organizations need to start building a more sustainable remote work environment for employees. Organizations that do not currently have a clear picture of their sensitive data environment are encouraged to take advantage of both the Sensitive Data Manager software, and the Data Discovery Agent download to monitor data risks of their remote workforce.
