Our Take
This award bodes well for Qualys, as it continues to be listed among the top Vulnerability Management solutions vendors. Its Global IT Asset Inventory product launched in February 2019 after a six-month long public beta, combining vulnerability management with asset discovery and configuration management. These elements extend the traditional practice of vulnerability management beyond a mere “scan-and-reporting" operation.
Qualys had recently announced the release of its Qualys VMDR solution, Vulnerability Management, Detection, and Response (VMDR), at RSA Conference 2020, which adds patch deployment and asset management to its current vulnerability management offering. General availability of VMDR is scheduled for April 1, 2020. It will be interesting to see how well Qualys fares with the new offering, as it continues to expand the functionality provided by Global IT Asset Inventory.
