iServer: Enterprise Architecture and Strategic Portfolio Management Tightly Aligned to Your Microsoft Suite

Orbus is a London, UK, based independent software company specializing in business and IT transformation. iServer, its main product, is predominantly an enterprise architecture tool, but also has a number of other use cases such as strategic portfolio management and business process management.

What gives iServer a notable advantage is its integration into the Microsoft 365 environment. As a Microsoft Gold Development Partner, Orbus is committed to an incorporation of familiar Microsoft applications to ensure ease of use, ease of communication, and quick deployment, and allow its users to take advantage of existing artifacts, opposed to having to reinvent the wheel.

As an EA tool, iServer’s fundamental capabilities are in modeling and diagramming various aspects of your technology architecture. iServer’s modeling feature is in fact built on an enhanced Visio interface. Moreover, it provides seamless repository coupling within Visio. In addition to capturing Visio models, iServer offers many other features enabling analysis and management of various portfolios and producing a large number of reports in Power BI. Both inputs and outputs of the tool extend and enable the capabilities of an architect embedded in a Microsoft world.

Most recently, iServer has added two new “Connects” for Microsoft Project and SharePoint, providing more opportunities to integrate into the Office 365 environment. This will allow users to add project management and collaboration functionality to their EA toolset.

Our Take

The advantages of keeping your apps in a connected environment are clear. For those currently embedded in a Microsoft environment, Orbus’s iServer provides a quicker and easier means to add enterprise architecture capabilities into your toolset.
