What differentiates Twilio SendGrid Email API from other similar products?

Sendgrid practically takes engagement with customers beyond just email newsletters. We are successfully reaching customers with our marketing content via instant messengers such as Whatsapp and even through sms.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Sendgrid enable us bring automation into our email marketing engagement with customers and sales leads. By using Sendgrid automation, we have successfully set triggers to initiate personal engagements with specific customers and sales leads who meet certain criteria. This has improved our sales numbers and saved us a lot of time as well.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Sendgrid is an hugely technical email marketing platform. Therefore, it is not for organizations or individuals with no previous email marketing experience.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Sendgrid is built to enable us continuously track ,measure and improve all aspect of our email marketing approach. This makes it ideal for organizations with an eye for continuous growth.

What differentiates Twilio SendGrid Email API from other similar products?

SendGrid has the best engine to get emails delivered with being marked as SPAM or denied.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Metric reporting; open rate, click rate, undelivered, etc.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I don't have any issues with the product. It isn't easy understanding how to make sure your emails get delivered (or accepted) by the mail providers.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

SendGrid is a great product, but make sure you have internal resources committed to make the best use of the service. Garbage in will producer Garbage out.

What differentiates Twilio SendGrid Email API from other similar products?

Its cost was one of the reasons we went with it. It's quite affordable for smaller companies (that grew out of the minimal free MailChimp).

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The best thing for our project was that SendGrid offers a good variety of "behind the scenes" IT implementation, so our administrative emails from the website were sent on time and didn't end up in the spam box, which is good.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The HTML editing for the emails is horrible (or, at least, non-intuitive.) Every time I needed to change something in the HTML of the marketing email, it would convert that block to HTML and there was no going back (that I could see). Also, the fonts kept changing, and even though I inserted the text from a notepad (that has ZERO formatting), the text would be in different sizes. SO... either you simply code your email elsewhere and insert it into the SendGrid, or use the standard templates and write your text right there.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It's useful and it provides a good cost-benefit ratio, especially if you have IT people on the team. But there are certain things you need to keep in mind when it comes to using SendGrid for marketing. Long story short: if you want a product that works intuitively and straightforwardly - get MailChimp. If you need a product that you can customize and not spend a whole lot of money on - get SendGrid. It's like iOS and Android. Both have their benefits and both have their peculiarities.
