What differentiates The Trade Desk from other similar products?

TradeDesk has a great education program that differentiates the DSP from other platforms. Under the Learn tab, you can see the training modules they have put together to inform advertisers of their platform capabilities but also how they are updating their platform to manage cookie depreciation, and any ongoing changes in the advertising space.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

TradeDesk has a lot of great overview widgets that allow advertisers to view their campaign performance in a quick snapshot. They reference pacing, channels, and if the primary KPI of the campaign is at risk; super helpful tools to monitor performance at a glance. There are also great tools including the incremental reach planner and forecasting tool that enable advertisers to effectively plan campaigns ahead of launch.

What do you dislike most about this product?

While TradeDesk has a lot of great differentiators from DV360 and Amazon, one of the pain points is the lack of 2nd party data that can be easily leveraged. Because of this, we have to rely on 3rd party data for any targeting which requires additional costs.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I highly recommend running campaigns in TTD. Their support team is highly knowledgeable and will often jump on a call to support and troubleshoot whenever necessary. They have shown to drive strong conversion performance and it is a great alternative platform to DV360.

What differentiates The Trade Desk from other similar products?

The Trade Desk is built for advertising agencies and provides the most access to third-party data providers, supply-side vendors, brand safety partners, and private marketplace publisher deals of any DSP in the ad tech industry. The Trade Desk is also the leading ad tech platform for CTV campaign management.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ability to target custom audiences on a granular level and apply multiple bid adjustments after analyzing various data grains for optimization purposes. It's also helpful that The Trade Desk centralizes its buying platform with a data management solution and private marketplace publisher tool.

What do you dislike most about this product?

As an agency we have seen turnover on our account management team from time to time at The Trade Desk. Having the same account management team we can count on would be a big win for us.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Interview multiple DSPs and identify how much access to third-party data providers, supply side vendors, brand safety companies, brand lift study companies, etc. that you have access to through the DSP you are considering.
