Great messaging platform

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?

I think Slack has a personality - cute and fun. Lots of fun reactions and even GIFs people can send - I feel that people are more playful on Slack because of that in comparison to other messaging platforms I have used like Teams.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I absolutely love being able to edit messages after I send them - such a game changer. I love cute emojis and reactions I can add to my colleagues' messages.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I wish the search function worked better - I can almost never find messages or content I am looking for because I believe they search in all the channels I'm part of and it searches through a lot of irrelevant content. Going back to past messages is not always easy because messages disappear from the front page after a week or so. It's not efficient to have to compose a new message with say 5 people when I know i messaged those same people a while ago.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I think it's a great option, especially if you can afford a platform on top of say, having Microsoft Teams.

Pros

  • Continually Improving Product
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?

Slack has become one of the most popular IM and productivity tools especially during and after covid lockdowns. That being said their team is constantly innovating which makes them special.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I really like how easy it is to use and how you can have different groups set up and restrict access.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The clicking notification sound drove me crazy. I also did not like them advertising on television. It just seemed weird to me.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

This is a fantastic product and I would be surprised if it wasn't a fit for your organization.

Great tool for online classes and communication

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?

Slack has a wider range of functions. It enables me to hold my online classes with my students throughout the world. Screen sharing makes the process smoother. Video calls are of great quality, even though my Internet connection is not the best or the fastest. I integrated Slack with other platforms where my students access their home assignments. I love it that I can group the students to different channels and send messages to all of them, not separately.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Quick messaging makes communication smoother. Emails take too long to write or reply to. Slack has vivid emoticons that make the chat look more emotional. It makes my work super organized, I do not deal with other software much, all is in Slack. The interface is user-friendly and the color too.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The bot sends too many notifications, reminders of birthdays, etc. This is not a drawback but it distracts me as I want to delete all the notifications and keep it neat. There should be an easier tutorial on how to use it. At first when I started to use it, it was hard. It took some time for me to get used to it.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Definitely go for it for mass communication with your students and colleagues. It is not pricey, everything is under one platform. You pay a little for the subscription plan and you get the option of video calls. Online classes and meetings are held excellently.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity
