Plays a pivotal role in team communication.

Likeliness to Recommend

8 /10

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?

Slack brings team communication together, especially through the CHANNEL feature. The feature is the primary medium of communication about project ideas in my company. Having access to team discussions on a fly, is an huge benefit which only Slack affords me at this time.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Integration with key productivity software solutions I rely upon, to be effective on a daily , either when I am within the office environment or outside of the office environment.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Subpar video communication feature. As a team, we have navigated this by integrating with more advanced video conference solutions. While being able to integrate with a third party solution, in order to navigate a Slack weakness can be seen as an advantage of Slacks integration capability, I believe that Slacks default video communication feature should be good enough for team based video communication needs.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Slack now allows for communication and collaboration with peers, outside my organization through the Slack platform. Maybe, another reason to use Slack.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product

  • Performance Enhancing

Slack - Because setting up google meet for every

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?

We checked Zoho Cliq before trying Slack. Zoho Cliq wasn't intuitive and also because most of the other employees had already used slack and were extremely familiar with it, we moved. Although Zoho Cliq was far more cheaper but that did not add any advantage since most people never got around using it and always asked to bring slack

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I love their API integration most, you can use their API and trigger messages to their channels. This helps you set up your in-house alert system in an extremely cheap and easy way. I also love huddles in slack the best. They are extremely helpful for short conversations with you colleagues, you do not need to set up a separate meeting in google just ask your friend to join a huddle and you are good to go. Sure, you can give them a call on their phone as well, but huddles allow you to separate your personal and professional life pretty well. Slowly you'll get into the habit of using huddles for office-related tasks and calling when you want

What do you dislike most about this product?

The only thing I dislike about slack is it needs an extremely good internal connection to work. You can forget about using video and audio calls and huddles if your bandwidth is even average. To actaully be productive using slack, you need a really good internet connection. But since most of the people using slack are office working people, internet is never an issue. Companies have great bandwidth and hence most people never even notice reduced performance of slack over slow internet

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If budget is not an issue, it's a great product to have. It's not just a communication or texting tool. It's a pure collaboration tool that not only allows you to connect with your peers either through messages, call or video chats but also allows to raise alerts using API and setup automation that allows team to be on top of everything

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product
  • Reliable
