Communication with Slack is fantastic

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?

Slack allows me to quickly and simply communicate with my complete staff or just a select group of them. For many years, Slack has been an integral part of our business, but since moving everything online, its importance has skyrocketed. We like the flexibility of being able to establish individual alerts for each channel dedicated to a certain topic. We have been able to automate several processes, such as notifying the service desk of problems, thanks to the system's flexibility to interact with other platforms.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

If you're looking for a chat program that's more advanced than a basic group chat but simpler than Microsoft Teams, then Slack is a great option. I really appreciate the ability to separate conversations onto multiple channels. Several communication systems are in use throughout my company, each dedicated to a certain department or line of inquiry. This keeps the main conversation from becoming too noisy, and it shields sensitive work from prying eyes. Nonetheless, it's not as ponderous as Microsoft Teams, which I've used.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I don't have too many gripes. In my opinion, it would be helpful if you could save project "updates" in a database, like Basecamp does. Sending or saving files with a pin? So that they aren't buried by the rest of the discourse and forgotten about. In order to better compete with services like Zoom, Slack Video may also benefit from a "presentation mode," if one does not already exist. Overall though, I don't have many gripes.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Slack is useful for organizations of all sizes but especially for startups. Slack can grow along with your company, which is another huge plus. Even as your company grows and the number of employees increases, communication will remain smooth thanks to Slack.
