Great app, the only downside is it's standalone

Intuitive chat platform with many functions

Likeliness to Recommend

8 /10

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?

Despite providing real-time chat service, Slack stands out because it has a unique design that makes it look professional. When compared with other chat tools, Slack seems more professional and relatively formal, which makes it ideal for business-related communications. It also allows you to share files, images, comments, and direct messages to relevant people.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like Slack because they send alerts to my email about what is happening on the platform. Therefore, I have a glimpse of what is happening and whether my boss responded to my request even before I login to my Slack account. I also like it because it is easily accessible from anywhere using any device. It is also versatile in that you can share information through private chats, channels, or share with everyone on the workspace. It delivers messages quite fast especially if the participants have a good internet connection.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Sometimes there is too much happening on slack especially if you have several channels and many private chats. So if you are not careful, you might end up spending too much time following what is happening on Slack instead of focusing on your work. If you make a mistake and send the wrong message to a certain channel, the information is seen in real time, which could lead to problems. So you need to be sure what you want to share and with whom.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Always create a channel for people handing the same tasks. This makes it easy to share information to specific people and avoid burdening all the others with information that does not relate to them.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Unique Features
  • Efficient Service

Slack is integral to our operational success.

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates Slack from other similar products?

Slack is intuitive and easy to use. I am of the opinion that anyone who has ever made use of a messenger application in any form will get used to using Slack in a matter of hours. Also important, is Slacks ability to integrate with other software products. This has enabled my company for example, to create workflows around Slacks integration with important software products we utilize at the workplace.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The most important part of my Slack experience is always going to be SLACK CHANNELS and this is my favourite aspect of the product. Slack brings clarity and order to our team conversations by allowing us to group conversations based on teams, interests , projects etc Channels on Slack brings alignment to conversations by ensuring that conversations are centered around employees with connected work interest or job roles.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Information overload is a major disadvantage of Slack ,especially within organizations with a large employee size , which automatically means lots of channels. In my time using Slack at my present company, there have been situations where I have missed critical team message notifications , based on having so many unread notifications at the same time.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I think for most organisations, using Slack comes with a lot of undeniable benefits.

Pros

  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity
  • Security Protects
