What differentiates ServiceNow RPA Hub from other similar products?

The shift from standalone RPA to ServiceNow RPA Hub really changes how we handle automation because it treats a bot as a native component rather than an external script. Dealing with separate orchestrators and maintaining fragile bridges between different platforms is usually the biggest pain point in this space. With this setup, we can trigger a bot directly within the Flow Designer to bridge the gap for legacy apps that do not have APIs. Since it uses the same credential stores and security roles we already have in place, the administrative overhead is almost zero. It basically turns a risky bolted on project into a stable self healing part

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite part is that I no longer have to manage a separate infrastructure silo just to talk to a legacy app. Having the RPA components live directly in the Flow Designer is huge because it effectively eliminates the constant switching between different tools that usually kills productivity. I can keep all my logic in one spot and use the same credential management system that the rest of the platform already uses. It makes the whole process feel way more cohesive because the bot functions as a native extension of the workflow rather than a fragile external script I have to monitor every time the environment changes.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The biggest frustration is definitely the platform tax and the clunky handoff between the cloud orchestrator and the desktop design studio. Even though the integration is deep the actual development experience can feel fragmented because you are constantly switching between a web browser and a local windows application which just breaks the flow. You also have to navigate some pretty steep licensing costs and complex measurements that make it hard to justify for smaller projects. There is also a constant worry about technical debt since over customizing a bot to handle a weird legacy UI can turn into a maintenance nightmare when the platform.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Start with an API first mindset and only use RPA for those stubborn legacy apps that refuse to connect any other way. You should keep your automation logic modular so you do not end up with one giant broken script when a UI element shifts. Take the time to get comfortable with the Desktop Design Studio early on since the switch between the web interface and the local environment is usually the biggest hurdle. If you stick to native credential management and small reusable chunks the long term maintenance during platform upgrades becomes much more manageable.
