What differentiates SAP Data Services from other similar products?
It goes a step further by offering built in data profiling, cleansing, validation and transformation. This is especially valuable when working with large complex datasets where data accuracy matters as such as performance.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I appreciate the reusability of objects once create a well designed transformation or data flow it can be reused across jobs. This not only saves time but also helps maintain consistency and makes long term maintenance much easier.
What do you dislike most about this product?
New users often need time to understand its architecture, repositories and job design concepts. Compared to more modern, cloud native ELT tools it can feel complex and a bit outdated in terms of user experience.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you work in SAP centric environment and need strong data quality it's powerful and stable but require training, higher costs and careful performance tuning, so it's best suited for large, long term enterprise projects rather than lightweight or real time use cases.

My favorite aspect of SAP Data Services is its comprehensive data quality and transformation engine. It allows you to handle everything—from data extraction and cleansing to enrichment and loading—within one unified environment. The built-in transforms for data profiling, deduplication, address cleansing, and validation are powerful and flexible. This all-in-one approach reduces the need for multiple tools and makes it easier to manage complex data pipelines with consistency and control. What do you dislike most about this product?
The main drawback of SAP Data Services is its complexity and steep learning curve. I love the fact that i can actually show auditors the full flow of data without manually digging through logs.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It's powerful but not beginner-friendly. One will need proper training to use it.

I'll recommend that you leverage the built-in data quality tools. One of the biggest advantages is real time data profiling, cleansing and matching.
