Simple Backup Management for MSPs

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates MSP360 Managed Backup from other similar products?

MSP360 Managed Backup stands out for its simplicity, cloud flexibility, and MSP-focused design. It lets IT managers choose their own storage like AWS, Azure, or S3-compatible options, reducing vendor lock-in and cost. Compared to tools like Veeam Backup and Replication or Rubrik Security Cloud, it is easier to deploy and managed across multiple clients, offering solid backup features with lower operational overhead and predictable pricing.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

If I had to pick one standout aspect of MSP360 Managed Backup, it would be the flexibility around storage. According to my point of view, not being locked into a single vendor’s cloud stack makes a real difference and we can route backups to AWS, Azure, or S3-compatible providers based on cost and compliance needs. That kind of control keeps the architecture simple while still leaving room to scale and optimize over time.

What do you dislike most about this product?

One thing that can feel limiting with MSP360 Managed Backup is that it prioritizes simplicity over deep enterprise features. If we are used to more advanced platforms like Rubrik Security Cloud or Veeam Backup and Replication, we may notice gaps in areas like highly automated disaster recovery workflows, richer analytics, or more sophisticated ransomware recovery capabilities. It gets the job done well for standard backup needs, but it can feel a but lightweight when we are managing complex, large-scale enterprise environments.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If we are considering MSP360 Managed Backup, it’s a solid choice for IT teams or MSP’s that want simple, reliable backup management with flexible cloud storage and predictable costs. It’s easy to deploy and manage across multiple environments. However, if we need advanced disaster recovery, deeper automation, or enterprise-grade resilience, we may also want to evaluate options like Veeam Backup and Replication or Rubrik Security Cloud.

Flexible backup for engineers

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates MSP360 Managed Backup from other similar products?

The key system is that MSP360 feels more like an engineering tool than a opinionated SaaS product. it exposes a lot of control over backup behavior, including scripting support, pre and post backup actions, detailed scheduling, and granular retentions policies. MSP360 is also built strongly around centralized management for distributed environments, especially in MSP style or multi machine setups.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The fact is that it does not force us into a bundled storage ecosystem changes how we design backups at a fundamental level and it does not try too hard to abstract everything away. instead, it exposes enough knobs like scheduling, scripting hooks, retention policies encryption settings that we can actually fit into existing operational workflows.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The downside is that the flexibility, while powerful, sometimes shifts more responsibility onto the engineer. since storage in BYOS and configurations are highly customizable, we are effectively designing parts pf backup strategy ourself. i would say that MSP360 trades polish and guided simplicity for control and flexibility.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

i would strongly recommend doing real recovery testing early in the evaluation phase, not just file restores but full image or system recovery if that is part of our case. the infrastructure grade tools, its reliability really shows how well our configuration is designed rather than just how its installed.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Trustworthy
  • Unique Features
  • Inspires Innovation
