What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?

Microsoft Sharepoint is a very capable software with great customizability.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Creating microsites for collaboration between teams, different service lines and countries, in a visually pleasing way.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Back-end for the microsites is very hard to manage to be aesthetically pleasing.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would definitely recommend not just sticking with a simple file sharing system, but creating dashboards, which is Sharepoint very capable of doing so.

What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?

Sharepoint makes it easy to share and use files across different areas seamlessly. Other products require different folders and search functions as well as end user accounts to access.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The storage, organization, ease of use by logging in regardless of physical location and being able to access in mobile app

What do you dislike most about this product?

Mobile app is clunky and sometimes difficult to get larger files. Also don’t like the folder feature which can be tricky to uploaded shared images.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Negotiations are key to getting a fair deal with the proper support. Also in house training if your moving from a different format.

What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?

Exceptional product support and community forums. Also, SharePoint integrates very well with the office productivity suite and Onedrive.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Access control and distributed authoring and collaboration. Document reviews can be done very easily.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Lacks some major features that a full fledged content management system provides such as support for single sourcing and Dita XML authoring.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you're considering a basic platform to host internal websites for your organization, SharePoint is the perfect solution.
