What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?

We upload all our documentation on sharepoint. Knowledge management is the core value of our company. We believe in continuous learning and all our documents are available here. Each employee is encouraged to come up with new documentation and this is part of the employee appraisal. There is no need to reinvent the wheel when most of the best practices are already figured out. Sharepoint saves us lots of effort and time.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It is easy to search and find the documents. The product is tightly integrated with Teams where we collaborate.

What do you dislike most about this product?

None as of now.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

A must have product. All documents related to software development life cycle can be uploaded here and the team can colloborate. It is a no brainer to implement this product. It pays for itself in less than a year. It saves realestate cost as well, as all the documents can stored here and there is no need to have big file cabinets in the office occupying space.

What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?

Office365 licenses, allows the IT area to have better management, innovative collaborative functions, adaptable and scalable; being able to be useful for small and large companies, large amounts of documents can be uploaded, easy integration, much more space for storage, all the necessary cooperative tools.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It allows me to manage, centralize and share content and documentation in the most agile and professional, but above all, practical way. With SharePoint we can quickly upload our documents and have an easy search of them later. Another great advantage is that we can work on a document at the same time and the members of the company have access to all the content. Access from any device. Colleagues are kept up to date with publications made on the platform and it is also useful for sharing resources and information that other groups can also access. It can be used to create all kinds of databases.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I haven't really had any problems with SharePoint, but there is something that bothers me a bit and that is the synchronization between files, sometimes it is very slow.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If in addition to security and file storage you are also looking to collaborate in the same place, this software meets the necessary functions to do so. A learning curve is necessary, but it is less complicated than it seems, the intuitive interface makes it easier.

The radical difference between Sharepoint and its peers is that this tool focuses on collaborative work, encourages group work and efficient file sharing for real-time editing and access.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The creation of sites is quite simple and clear, one of the things that catches my attention is that these sites are adjusted to the device where they are accessed, that is to say, the web parts of the site are adjusted to the type of screen allowing flexibility to the work group since it does not require a laptop or desktop to access the private site.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The method of inheriting permissions from libraries on private sites is a bit confusing, especially for external guests, the way of defining roles and permissions is not very clear and raises doubts.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

There are definitely more pluses than minuses when it comes to Sharepoint, if you are a business user and want to have a collaborative, secure and efficient environment you are in the right place, without the need to go to a complex IT infrastructure you can have your own intranet and from there define the roles of your team to make your task more efficient.
