Power query editor for data massaging is my favorite aspect

Performance scaling with larger data sets is an issue and needs improvement.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Great build in integration with Microsoft tools. Go for it if you are heavily invested in Microsoft products like Azure, GitHub, MS office

What differentiates Microsoft Power BI from other similar products?

Power BI stands out through its unbeatable cost-efficiency and seamless Microsoft 365 integration. Unlike competitors, it offers a familiar Excel-like environment making it the most accessible tool for corporate ecosystems.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The Power Query engine is a standout. It allows users to perform complex data transformations and clean messy data using a beginner-friendly interface and significantly reducing the need for external tools.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The steep learning curve of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions). While basic reports are easy, creating advanced, custom calculations requires mastering a complex formula language that can be highly unintuitive for beginners.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Always use the fast implementation of the Power BI Desktop app for development and the Power BI Service (web) for sharing. Never try to build complex models directly in the web browser.

What differentiates Microsoft Power BI from other similar products?

there are plenty of tools out there like klipfolio but they feel limited compared to the depth you get here. power bi is the best because it scales from a tiny project to a massive enterprise level without requiring a total overhaul of your workflow. the price point for the pro version is also way more accessible than most competitors.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

the custom visuals gallery is where the magic happens. being able to download community-made charts means i can always find a creative way to show growth or churn. the natural language query feature where you just type a question to get a chart is honestly like magic for my boss who isn't tech-savvy.

What do you dislike most about this product?

it can get really laggy if you have too many complex measures running at once. sometimes it feels like a memory hog on my laptop when i have a few files open simultaneously.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

highly recommend this for anyone who needs to tell a story with their data rather than just showing a bunch of boring rows and columns in a spreadsheet.
