What differentiates Matomo from other similar products?

I don't have much experience with other analytical tools, however what differentiates Matomo from other SaaS products is definitely the approach to customers. Matomo specialists are very supportive and helpful, I always feel taken care of, whenever I reach out to the support team. I appreciate the fact that Matomo organizes Matomo Camps and provides learning and improvement possibilities for free. I'm super excited for this year's edition!

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I love having all reports in one place, and the fact that I have the freedom to customize what I'm tracking, and customize multiple dashboards according to my needs.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Some terms are a bit engimatic, I wish they were explained in a clear way. I also wish there were more tutorials available providing more complex examples than the ones currently available. I know how to do the easy things now, the more complex ones are a challenge, and all I can do is learn by trials and errors or reach out to support.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It's a great alternative to Google Analytics, especially if you want to obey the European data protection laws. The learning curve may seem steap for beginners, but if you have some experience with other analytical tools, it should be easy to learn. What is great, is that you can fully adjust Matomo to serve your needs.

What differentiates Matomo from other similar products?

What stands out most in Matomo is its concern for protecting user privacy. With so many of my personal details being important and exposed, I am very reassured to have a tool that focuses on my privacy. As a result, I can keep an eye on people without risking their personal details which is needed for developing trust among my audience.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

One thing I particularly enjoy about Matomo is how much information the reports provide. I can also analyze how users behave, understand where they come from and see the achievement of my established targets. Another great feature is that I can self-host on this service, so my data is always under my own control.

What do you dislike most about this product?

But, things are not always as smooth as we wish. The loading of some reports should be improved, mainly when dealing with huge amounts of data. Even though it isn’t something I mind much, I sometimes get irritated when information is slow to surface.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

To wrap up, I believe Matomo is a great choice for any website. Since it is easy-to-use, values privacy and offers detailed reports, the tool helps anyone who wishes to comprehend how their site visitors behave. If you want to try something other than mainstream analytics programs, Matomo should be on your list.
