It does everything... Just poorly.

Likeliness to Recommend

3 /10

What differentiates KACE Systems Management Appliance from other similar products?

There is nothing that kace innovates to put it ahead of a similar product.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It's very cheap compared to other products. You get what you pay for.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Managing this from the System Administrative perspective is frustrating. Nothing is where you expect it to be and the terminology and methodology for almost everything is unintuitive.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Do not use this product. It's price may incentivize you but the amount of time that will be committed to implementation, administration, and use will quickly override and potential savings.

  • Transparent
  • Trustworthy
  • Respectful
  • Fair

Cons

  • Slower Product Innovation

Lots of features, but fails to execute

Likeliness to Recommend

What differentiates KACE Systems Management Appliance from other similar products?

Kace is your typical all in one solution where they really do have something for every piece of IT Systems Management. They pride themselves on being that end all system for IT support.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Their document library and user base to help create scripts and figure out how to fix a random bug is far superior to most products out there today.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The ability to create reports is non existent. They have some built in reports, but you will be spending hours if not weeks creating custom scripts which are the backend to the reports and even then it's not user friendly at all. You will never present these reports to any IT leadership board. Likewise the agents are extremley buggy and disconnect all the time from computers. One day they work and the next they are offline for weeks and require a reinstall for no reason.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If the price is right and the company size is below 250 users this could be the right product for you. As you start to grow it requires more and more hands on implimentation even after the initial rollout and you will be needing to have a Kace only IT staff member full time to fix the issues and support requests you run into.

Pros

  • Acts with Integrity
  • Unique Features
  • Efficient Service
  • Respectful

Cons

  • Slower Product Innovation
  • Less Effective Service
  • Inhibits Innovation
