What differentiates Datadog from other similar products?

Datadog include both monitoring and security inside the same application. Most of the time you will get two separate console but not with datadog. You also get a lot of integration with AWS, google and Azure cloud. Microsoft 365 is also covered (teams included) so you will get a full view of your datacenter to resolve all perf/ security problem in a SaaS mode.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

No server to manage, just install some agent when needed. easy to configure.

What do you dislike most about this product?

if you are using the last version of vsan (7.0U2) some metrics are not included yet. But i think we will get it soon.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Datadog is a very powerfull tool and you can try it for free before buying it. So start with the trial install your agent, build your dashboard, and test it. you may love it.

What differentiates Datadog from other similar products?

Datadog has unique features and is constantly being improved. It has many integrations allowing you to monitor almost anything. It has good performance both in the display of information on the dashboards and the agent running on the nodes. Perhaps, its price is a bit high.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

What I like the most are the integrations and the possibility to create custom checks that send metrics using DogStatsD.

What do you dislike most about this product?

So far there is nothing I dislike. Maybe its price is a little high

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Check if you are really going to use all the features Datadog has, how many nodes or services you plan to monitor, how many metrics you are generating, etc. This could tell you if the cost you will pay for this tool is really worth it or if you should go for another solution.

The easy of integrating and implementing this tool with different services.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

What I like the most about DataDog is how easy is to understand the data provided, create custom filters and reports and get valuable information, even without having previous experience with it.

What do you dislike most about this product?

As it has a vast number of features, it could be complicated sometimes to find the specific option or configuration you need. Anyway, you get used with the time.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you have different services and you are looking for a service to integrate all the reports, this is the one to choose. In my opinion it's the best one in the market.
