What differentiates Adobe InDesign from other similar products?

With InDesign, we can create flashy, professional content like never before. The templates are great and the features allow us to spruce or edit content quickly and effectively.

Its workflow is extremely robust in its object styles and characters - I've saved a copious amount of time on edits that are now as simple as a few clicks. Its integration with other Adobe programs is also a huge plus.

Sometimes pasting objects into InDesign and moving them into a specific location is much more difficult than it should be.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Absolutely take advantage of all of the tutorials out there to fully be able to leverage the platform's features - otherwise I fear you'd be missing out.

Can Make Good Pieces, Hard to Be a Pro at Using It

Likeliness to Recommend

8 /10

What differentiates Adobe InDesign from other similar products?

I'm constantly astounded by the large lineup of options Adobe InDesign has for making deliverables. I feel like the quality of tools and options you have for curating your user experience and creating products is greater than most everything else in the market.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The many tutorials that Adobe has on hand were super helpful in making my way around this product. I love that Adobe seems to really have the user in mind while making products. That, and the customer support team was very helpful anytime I reached out for product guidance. It makes a product that's easy to be confused while using a little more manageable.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I dislike how visually cluttered everything is, especially for a design tool. Most every product on the market nowadays isn't focusing on just function, but also layout. But, I consistently feel like that's a weak point of Adobe's. They have phenomenal products (albeit slow and laggy at times), but I think they at times offer so many tools that it's difficcult to lay it out in a user-friendly way. Maybe more collapsable menus would help?

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Consider how much time you have to put into training per employee who is planning to use this tool. I'd say it took me 10+ hours to get comfortable navigating the many options for this tool, so it was worth it once I was familiar - but it's a big time investment for a larger company
