What differentiates Workday Talent Optimization from other similar products?

Actually, there are no major differentials in Workday talent management as it contains only the basic features that should be present in any talent management tool. However it is very secure and affordable. It also functions pretty well even at the time of huge load so no issues in that. It gets the work done that's what matters.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Main aspect of this product is pricing point. It is very affordable and for a customer who is expecting no nonsense product with basic features, it perfectly fits the bill. Their customer support is also very good and they are quick to resolve the any issues which you are facing. Overall it does the job which it supposed to.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The user interface and user experience need a full overhaul because the product is not at all attractive and you need to take considerable amount of time to become familiar with this product. Also, the amount of features are also very basic and need to get improved. They also should start integrating artificial intelligence wherever possible to make this product better.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Overall I feel this is a basic product to handle talent management and screening with average user interface and user experience. However it has all the necessary functionalities and does the job as expected. Also, the pricing is on point and very affordable. The customer support team is very supportive and help in resolving any issues. If you are looking out for a very affordable product, then this is for you.

What differentiates Workday Talent Optimization from other similar products?

cause it’s a large, full-suite system, implementing Workday (or doing major changes) tends to be more involved, both in cost and time, especially for organizations with lots of custom requirements and there are limits to how much deep customization is possible (some business object limitations) without complicating upgrades. Organizations may need to adapt their processes to match what Workday supports well

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite aspect of Workday Talent Management is the Skills Cloud and skills-based architecture. Unlike many HR systems that just store static job titles or competencies, Workday’s Skills Cloud uses AI/ML to dynamically map, clean, and relate skills across the organization.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Because Workday is feature-rich, setting it up and getting employees / managers fully comfortable takes time and Navigating to advanced tasks (reporting, performance templates, workflows) is often not intuitive. There are many sub-menus, dependencies, and often things are buried several clicks deep.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I’d recommend clearly defining your talent goals up front and starting with a phased rollout of the most critical features. Make sure you invest in data cleanup and user training, since Workday can feel complex at first. Strong change management and clear reporting needs will make adoption much smoother.
