What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It's free, widely support, and usable across many programming lanugages.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Sometimes edge-case items like browser pop-up authentication takes a long time to be supported, but usually there is always a work-around in the community.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

You have to give Selenium a shot. Any other paid competitor will charge you lots of money for something that is less quality.

Some of unique features which make it better than others are like : 1> Selenium supports multiple browser , By simple command you can lunch your preferred browser . 2>It supports multiple language as well . 3>It’s compatible with every OS. 4>It also has integration for open-source frameworks like TestNG, JUnit and lot more . 4> Performance of selenium is also better than others .

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It's really helpful in automating web application which are made for different web browser and it is very fast to implement in any language because it has simple code. It helps us to perform function testing , regression testing of the application and it's useful in generating the test data required for performance testing. Here we can customize the selenium we driver as per our requirements which reduce overall test execution time . Easy to integrate with other DevOps tool such as Jenkin and GitHub to automate CICD pipeline as well , which reduce lot of manual effort. It has a large community which is very helpful when facing any issue.

What do you dislike most about this product?

1>To use selenium you requires good programming skills but now some other tools in the market already which do all the automation and data scraping using drag and drop options which selenium can adopt as it's feature. 2> Not allow to perform data base testing using selenium . 3> Selenium does not support mobile automation testing on its own. 4> You can't perform testing on images as well .

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It's useful when you have to test web application which supports multiples browser and language. It's very dynamic QA team constantly keeps adding more test cases to the test suites to ensure maximum coverage and then combine it with Jenkins to run the test cases which reduce lot of manual effort. It's provides option to customize selenium web drives as per our requirements which saves lot of time and very useful . As it's an open source application you can easily learn from the large community.

What differentiates Selenium from other similar products?

The first and major difference is that its free. We just need to addon some jar files and use some ide to make it work however some language and tool level expertise is required to work smoothly with selenium. Also it provides different framework. So that is one of the best feature i think it has to offer to its end users. They are continuously working on improvements and enhancements which is also good

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It allows me to make framework of my choice not like other tools which force us to follow their own framework. Since its free tool, you can add so many customizations to make your work easy. I simply share my work on git and take help from others because so many practitioners are working on it.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Security is one of the main concern for me and i think thats why most of the organization choose paid tool over selenium. Since it is free, it becomes very easy to breech the security in selenium. The passwords are not masked and kept in some configuration files can be easily look by random people.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you want to start with automation, you must start with selenium because it gives you huge variety and freedom to explore the test automation. Of course you can go for some paid tools but why not you consider Selenium consider as a play ground before entering into actual war zone of test automation. Its free and it works easily on any machine without much big configuration needed in begining.
