What differentiates Oracle Database from other similar products?
For us, who work in a highly regulated financial field, the security elements are the most important thing that sets us apart. built-in solutions like oracle vault and detailed auditing features are much more complete than what competitors provide. This complex stack makes sure that we follow the strictest rules for data governance and compliance around the world.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I like how the auditing features cover everything. I can keep track of every time someone accesses data, even who executed a certain query and when. This is highly important for regulatory reports. The transparent data encryption (TDE) is strong and easy to use. It keeps sensitive data safe when it is not being used without slowing down the application too much.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It can be hard to understand how to set up security. When you try to follow the concept of least privilege, you often end up with hundreds of finely-tuned roles and profiles that are hard to keep track of.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I highly recommend Oracle Database to any company in finance, defense, or healthcare that needs to keep its data safe and have robust, auditable controls.
